Our tradition
The family of professional goldsmiths entered this very picturesque house in 1950 when Mr. Anton Butući took over the shop on the ground floor from the then watchmaker (Chiurco), who is believed to have worked there since the beginning of the twentieth century. At the same time, Anton Butući became the first owner of a craft with ordinal number 1, who was issued a license to work in a filigree shop. After Anton, the work in the jewelry store is taken over by his son Augustin, who during the furnishing of the store, on one of the shelves, finds the inscribed year of its installation (1911), which has since been taken as the starting point from which to count the ‘craftsman’ days of this small but attractive business space ‘with the soul and heart of its previous owners’. That year is ‘engraved’ by Emanuel Butući (third generation of craftsmen and goldsmiths) on the wooden facade of the shop window with the desire to emphasize the survival and continuity of a, today somewhat archaic craft which, thanks to the generational efforts of one family, not only survived in the city of St. Euphemia but also managed to additionally brand it through the quality of the product.
